The tuxedo jacket first appeared in menswear in the 1800s as an alternative to the tailcoat, and in 1975 Mr Lauren sent his version for women down the runway. Rendered in the season's classic grain de poudre fabric for a clean finish and a crisp yet soft hand feel, the slim-fitting Sutton is designed with silk faille shawl lapels, a single-button silhouette and besom pockets.
