The tuxedo jacket first appeared in menswear in the 1800s as an alternative to the tailcoat, and in 1975 Mr Lauren sent his version for women down the runway. Rendered in the season's classic grain de poudre fabric for a clean finish and a crisp yet soft hand feel, the slim-fitting Sutton is designed with silk faille shawl lapels, a single-button silhouette and besom pockets.

Details- Slim fit. Designed to hit at the lower hip.
- UK size 12 has a 760 cm body length and a 63 cm sleeve length. Body length is taken from the high point of the shoulder. Sleeve length changes less than 0.5 cm between sizes.
- Silk faille shawl collar. One-button silhouette. Fabric-covered button.
- Long sleeves with four-button cuffs. Fabric-covered buttons. Shoulder pads. Left chest welt pocket. Two front waist besom pockets.
- Fully lined with signature jacquard.
- Shell and lining: 100% wool. Lapels: 100% silk. Lining: 95% cupro, 5% elastane.
